Bhoovarahan Thirumalai serves as the CEO of Aspiration Energy and Telesolar. Aspiration Energy provides solar industrial process heat solution in India using an innovative Pay As You SaveModel; Telesolar is a rural electrification company providing electrical energy through distributed renewable energy generation using solar and other means to power rural telecom towers and progressively households and other rural commercial establishments. This again is modelled on innovative monthly payments of energy charges.
Before founding Aspiration Energy, Bhoo co-founded Aspire Systems and currently serves as one of its Directors of the Board. Prior to this assignment, he was President, US operations for Aspire Systems, and played a part in getting Aspire Systems to be a successful and well recognized Outsourced Product Development company, building it to be a 1000 people company as on Mar 2012.
Prior to founding Aspire, Bhoo played a role in helping one of India’s largest engineering companies, Larsen & Toubro; establish a successful market presence in plastic injection moulding machines. He is an entrepreneur by heart, having founded and run several successful and unsuccessful ventures in various areas.
Bhoo is a thought leader, and often quoted in leading media – recent appearance in SmartCEO. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pondicherry University, India, and is an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA. He has completed an online course in Solar Photovoltaic System Design conducted by Solar Energy International with ‘A’ Grade.
Bhoo is a Charter Member TiE-Chennai and heads it’s Clean-tech SIG. Bhoo is also an active Rotarian and is a key member of Rotary Club-of Madras Central. He is a qualified Naturopath having undergone a professional course in Acupuncture.
